 Good Faith Estimate

As of January 1, 2022 therapists are required to supply a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to all clients. It is part of a federal law that includes a “No Surprises” Act.

This is a form detailing the cost of services with an estimate of what treatment might cost an individual or couple. It will show what services you can expect and an estimate of overall cost for the year of treatment. The GFE will be discussed in the consultation call with potential clients, and then will be reviewed and provided during and after the intake process. Due to the nature of therapy and treatment, the estimate is just that, as length of therapy is often hard to determine. It does not account for any changes in treatment, your own pace and growth, or additional services that might be required. The GFE is not a contract between the client and therapist. The client can still terminate services at anytime and also request a change to services at anytime.

Good Faith Estimate Details for Individuals and Couples

Individual/Couples 60 minute sessions = $100

Weekly 60 minute sessions for 50 weeks = $5000

Bi-weekly 60 minute sessions for 50 weeks = $2500

Monthly 60 minute sessions for 12 months = $1200

Listed above are examples of financial expectations one could accrue in a calendar year. The actual frequency and duration would be dependent upon you the client and your goals for therapy. Please speak to your therapist if you have further questions about this requirement and its impact.
